CAP Month 2023

Everyone

Please consider the information below for ideas to connect, collaborate, and share in the promotion and celebration of National Child Abuse Prevention Month in Indiana during April 2023:

A familiar phrase associated with the Christmas holiday is “it’s the most wonderful time of the year.” Well, for child abuse preventionists the approaching month of April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month, might illicit similar thoughts. Way better than a one-day Hallmark Holiday, right? And the impact of the lifegiving message from the platform provided to us by this month is impossible to measure. While the work of preventing child maltreatment is a year-round endeavor, we are grateful to each chartered council across Indiana, with whom we partner to make use of the events of April to supercharge our efforts and build momentum for the rest of the year.  We encourage you to learn more here about how to get involved.

  • PCAIN Events Calendar

    • The PCAIN webpage for community events is always available by using link here. However, April is a highlight since so many child abuse prevention councils across Indiana have promotion and education events scheduled.  New information will be added regularly, so be sure to check back routinely to see the most current events near you.  We encourage council members, families, and community members to attend one or more of these events to show your support for the work of child abuse prevention.
    • PCAIN needs to know about the April child abuse prevention month events that are scheduled in your county. Please e-mail Kathy King (kking.pcain@villages.org) your flier(s) with details of the event, date, time, and location, so that we can add it to the PCAIN Events Calendar and help with promotion.

  • PCAIN website for CAP Month toolkit

    • Kathy King, PCAIN Program Support Specialist, has once again done a fantastic job of personalizing (adding the PCAIN logo) and downloading the toolkit of resources created by Prevent Child Abuse America each year to help with easy access and utilization of these tools to promote Child Abuse Prevention Month events of your council and community. Those can be accessed through the link here.  Keep in mind this is a password protected area of the PCAIN webpage, intended for chartered councils only.  If you need help accessing this area of the webpage or have forgotten the password, please contact Kathy King (kking.pcain@villages.org) or Kawana Rogers (khowell.pcain@villages.org) for assistance.
