Public Awareness Activities:
• Create & hand out how not to be a victim and work with the Bids for Kids foundation along with the victim’s rights week
• Participate in upcoming booths and fairs
• Work on developing some mini-fundraisers
• Distribute PCA brochures at local agencies and Doctor’s offices
• Display Report Child Abuse Banner during the month of April
• Council members will be trained in the Shaken Baby Training and will be presenting information to service clubs, parenting groups, and school around Madison County
• Have council members attend the PCAIN Breaking the Cycle Conference
• Report Child Abuse posters are still located in bus stations
• Send press releases to newspapers concerning child abuse and neglect
• Attend regional PCAIN meetings
• Bring in Sgt. Terry Hall to talk about preventing sexual abuse in young children and bring other speakers to provide workshops and talk about how to create a safe environment for young children and to learn about programs in the community
• Distribute the roles and responsibilities in report child abuse and neglect booklets to all the schools, hospitals and businesses in Madison County
• Volunteer and partner with Bids for Kids Auction to highlight prevention efforts on April 24-25 including child safety fair
