Merger Final Between Two Agencies Committed to Serving Children and Families
INDIANAPOLIS – Effective July 1, the merger of Prevent Child Abuse Indiana and The Villages became official. The result will be better services for Indiana's most vulnerable children. The organizations will focus on strengthening the voice of Indiana's children and developing a statewide prevention plan to sustain and grow primary prevention services which will enhance the well being of Indiana's children.
"Each of our organizations has worked diligently over the past 12 months to develop a shared relationship which we believe will strengthen and sustain the critical mission of Prevent Child Abuse,” says Sharon Pierce, President & CEO for The Villages. "This will allow each of us to enrich our missions and to continue to strengthen our positions as leaders, educators, advocates and caregivers for children in need.”
To assure that the Prevent Child Abuse Indiana mission was maintained, their Board sought an organization that had a shared mission and would complement and strengthen its statewide presence.
"We were strained and struggling and needed a strong leader to help us to sustain our mission of serving as a catalyst for preventing child abuse,” said Justin Sage, president of the Prevent Child Abuse Indiana board and a patent attorney at Roche Diagnostics. "A lot of time and resources have been put into this merger. We couldn't be more pleased and optimistic about the future of our organization.”
"With The Villages' twenty-two offices throughout Indiana and Prevent Child Abuse Indiana's forty-eight community based Councils, there will be exciting synergy at the local level to promote the critical investment in our state's most precious resources, our children” emphasized Pierce.
The Villages, Indiana's largest not-for-profit child and family services agency, serves more than 1,200 children and their families each day. Their vision is that every child will flourish in a healthy, nurturing, self-sufficient family. www.villageskids.org
